Silent Science BY Shivam

In Te Maunga this week we had a visit from the Northland Science Roadshow. We learnt about rockets and how and what they need to move. We pumped lots of air to create pressure. We shot the rocket and it went far. We put some water in the rocket and it didn’t go as far before when we had air because it was getting pushed down by the water and the pressure was uneven. Second we did water testing. We got clear water and put some chemicals inside it to see what colour it would turn into. We learned that some coloured water is poisonous if you put in ammonia and nitrate. Some water is very good to drink because it helps your body. Third we learnt about rainbows and how they were made. We got a cd and put it inside a box we looked at the cd upside down and it was so colourful and cool. And at the end we got these glasses that made everything rainbow. The people who gave it to us said don't look at the sun for long with these or you'll go blind.
