Project Island Song

On June 1 the year 6 students in Te Ngahere went to Urupukapuka for Project Island Song. And we were learning about wildlife. We were learning how to bring back the nature song in New Zealand that means we need to bring back the wild life for example the birds song before when the Europeans came two New Zealand years ago the birds song was so loud you couldn't even hear yourself. First I learnt how to make rat trap we had to get in groups and then our teacher gave us some materials to make a rat trap. After that we went on a huge walk and planted trees. Also on the ride home we saw Bottlenose Dolphins everyone was so excited and everybody went out on the front deck. Then our skipper told us a few facts one of them was that the boat has to be between 20 meters of the dolphins to speed up again.

Have you ever been to Urupukapuka?

Super Cyber Smart

In Te Ngahere we have been doing cyber smart. We watched a video of a girl not being cyber smart she was posting personal photos of herself and anyone could copy them. We did this to learn how to be cyber safe and to learn how to stay safe online. From now on I will not tell people what country I live in, what school I go and were my neighborhood is.

Do you talk to strangers online?
