Project Island Song

On June 1 the year 6 students in Te Ngahere went to Urupukapuka for Project Island Song. And we were learning about wildlife. We were learning how to bring back the nature song in New Zealand that means we need to bring back the wild life for example the birds song before when the Europeans came two New Zealand years ago the birds song was so loud you couldn't even hear yourself. First I learnt how to make rat trap we had to get in groups and then our teacher gave us some materials to make a rat trap. After that we went on a huge walk and planted trees. Also on the ride home we saw Bottlenose Dolphins everyone was so excited and everybody went out on the front deck. Then our skipper told us a few facts one of them was that the boat has to be between 20 meters of the dolphins to speed up again.

Have you ever been to Urupukapuka?

  1. Hi Shivam, it’s Alex. I like how you explained what you did on the 1st of June. Your post reminded me of what my brother did when he went to Urupukapuka but he is only a year 3 and no I have not been to Urupukapuka.
